The Story

Everybody loves a good story…

Whether its making music, a good meal, an espresso or a creative design with a piece of wood, my friends and family know I like making things with my hands.

During the Covid-19 Pandemic we have all found ourselves with a “new normal” which involves a lot of extra time at home. While walking through a local salvage store before lockdown, I came across some wood that Boeing had used for shipping crates and decided to make a shelf for my vinyl collection. On my next trip I found some huge live edge oak slabs and thought they’d make a cool bench. One thing led to another and here we are…

Each piece of wood has a story to tell. It’s rings and grain tell the local history of weather, disease, the bugs it hosted. My thought is that the wood dictates the project’s design. When I find a piece of wood that speaks to me, it tells me what to build.
